The New Testament Made Simple (Overview)Sample

You’re about to explore the most influential section of the most influential book in history:
the New Testament in the Bible.
It has shaped lives, cities, nations—the entire world.
And it still has the power to shape your life today.
Yes, it has the power to shape who you are becoming—helping you grow in love, patience, goodness, and endurance.
So welcome, you made a great choice by taking time to explore the New Testament!
But what is its message? And why is it so “powerful”?
That’s exactly what you’ll discover in this Bible plan.
And to understand the message of the New Testament, we first need to step back and look at how it fits within the Bible as a whole.
This “whole” is what we call the Big Picture of the Bible.
And this Big Picture of the Bible can be summed up like this:
👉 The Bible reveals God’s plan to rescue humanity through Jesus Christ.
Yes, the Bible reveals a plan—a rescue plan. And it has to do with humanity. That means all of us—you too.
And this plan has two parts:
- The Old Testament shows the problem of humanity—what we need to be saved from.
- The New Testament shows God’s solution—how He saves us from the problem.
This is why the New Testament has the power to shape your life—it reveals God’s solution to your biggest problem: you are in rebellion against God and, as a result, can’t have a relationship with Him.
So, how can your problem of rebellion be solved and the relationship with God be restored?
That’s what we’ll explore over the next four days as you walk through the main parts of the New Testament.
- The Gospels and Acts—how God’s solution is revealed and spread.
- Paul’s Letters—how the solution is explained.
- The General Letters—how the solution shapes everyday life.
- Revelation—how the solution will be completed.

Ok! That was a great first look at the core message of the New Testament and how it fits into the Big Picture of the Bible.
Tomorrow, we’ll explore the Gospels and the book of Acts – the first part of the New Testament.
For now, take a moment to read Luke 23:33–39.
You’ll see how Jesus actually solved your problem of rebellion.
How does this passage challenge the way you think about forgiveness—both God’s forgiveness and yours?
