STAND STILL AND SEE
You're surrounded. The deadline is closing in, the relationship feels like it’s unravelling, and the diagnosis landed harder than you expected. Every instinct tells you to run, fix, hustle — do something. The idea of standing still in a moment like that feels foolish at best, faithless at worst.
But the Israelites knew this tension intimately. Hemmed in by the sea in front of them and an army behind them, Moses spoke words that must have felt absurd: "The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still." Not one sword drawn. Not one desperate sprint. Just stillness.
And it was in that stillness — that counterintuitive, faith-filled pause — that they witnessed one of the greatest miracles in human history. Standing still was not passivity. It was an act of radical trust.
This story is our story. We spend most of our energy trying to manage outcomes, control timelines, and outrun our fears. But what if the very thing God is asking you to do right now is nothing at all? What if He is asking you to stop long enough to see that He is already at work?
This 21-day journey begins exactly here — in the posture of stillness. When we stand still in God’s presence – when we take on this posture of faith and trust – we will see spiritual and supernatural victory in our lives. Before you can hear clearly, receive fully, or trust deeply, you have to stop.
These next 21 days are an invitation to be still enough to see what God is already doing. The sea is about to part. Don't miss it because you're still running.
Reflection: What situation in your life right now feels most urgent — and what would it look like to stand still before God in that very place today?
Call to Action: Set a timer for five minutes. Sit in complete silence, hands open. Simply tell God: 'I am still. I am here. I trust You.'
Prayer: Lord, my instinct is to run, fix, and manage. Today I choose to be still. I trust that You are fighting for me even when I cannot see it. Teach me what it means to truly rest in You. Amen.

About this Plan

Join us for 21 days of prayer and fasting as we reflect on what it means to be STILL and quiet ourselves before God. In a world that never stops moving, stillness can feel like a luxury we can't afford. But stillness is biblical. Psalm 46:10 encourages us “Be still and know that I am God!” Each day explores a different dimension of what it means to be truly still — this is not passive, but an intentional decision to stay connected to God and be sensitive to what His Spirit is doing and saying. Ps Matt and Franca Heins
